Add a camera and you can have even more benefits to your security alarm system such as checking to see who is at your front door. There is even technology now that will tell you who comes in and out of your house. If you want to know when your teenager gets home this type of system will do it for you.

There are also systems that can allow you to check your home when you are away. Systems are so advanced now that while you are away you are able to check the security of your home from any web-based system that is connected to the Internet. It also has the capabilities to let you know from the convenience of your enabled cell phone or PDA device.

For seniors there is an option for many systems that can be carried with them, mounted on a wall or held on a table that they are able to call out should a fall or other accident occur. This enables a senior to live more independently while still being able to summon help if needed.

The systems are built as a two-way intercom system that is activated by voice command. Some are also available that if something happens in the home it will activate on its own to call out to see if a person is okay. Most have a range of 300 feet and are very reliable. Many models are waterproof as well for added convenience.

When you search for a security company ensure that this is a viable option for services rendered on a twenty-four hour, seven day a week capacity. It is worth knowing that whether you are at home or away that there is someone monitoring and safeguarding your home.

Many people are not really sure what magnetic locks are. Well, a magnetic lock is a lock that is equipped with electromagnets and armature plates. Magnetic locks are more expensive than regular locks. A good magnetic lock can cost you as much as three hundred dollars. Some are even more expensive. A good conventional lock will cost you about forty dollars. It is possible for a magnetic lock to be wired into your existing electric system. This will cost you money on your electric bill.

There some significant advantages to use magnetic locks as opposed to using conventional locks. For starters, it is impossible to pick a magnetic lock because it runs off electricity. These locks are safe being secured using a number of different coding mechanisms. They are also very reliable. Magnetic locks operating using twelve to twenty four volts of DC current. Some magnetic locks use batteries while others can be hooked using electric wiring.

There are a number of things you need to take into consideration after install magnetic locks in your business or office. Maintenance it required to ensure that your magnetic locks are operating correctly. Magnetic locks are what is known as fail safe meaning that once they lose their source of power they will automatically unlock. It is important to make sure that the lock has power supplied to it all the time. You will need to check the batteries often.

There are many different types of magnetic locks. Each magnetic lock will be able to pull a certain number of pounds. Each lock will be more suitable for a certain situation. Some people will want to control access to a cabinet. For these types of situations, you will want to use a magnetic lock that only capable of pulling three hundred pounds. Magnetic locks that are able to pull twelve hundred pounds are better for controlling access to doors that receive a lot of traffic.

Conventional locks are not capable of providing the benefits that come with magnetic locks. One of the main benefits of the magnetic lock is that it doesnt have any interconnecting parts. You will have a much easier time install a magnetic lock because there are no interconnecting parts. Since magnetic locks do not have any interconnecting parts, they are much more durable than old conventional locks. If you are looking to control access to a high traffic area then go with a magnetic log.

Magnetic locks provide a more tamper proof design because they are installed within the door frame making it extremely difficult to tamper with. In order for your magnetic lock to work efficiently it needs to be installed properly. The electromagnet and armature plate should be aligned up as close as possible in order for the lock to work properly. Take your time whenever you are installing your magnetic lock to make sure it is installed correctly and make sure that all the wires are hidden inside the door frame.

The main reason people decide to use magnetic locks is because they can be used as part of an electronic security system. It is also possible to attach a magnetic lock to a keycard reader. You can also hook up a magnetic lock to a computer that controls all of the locks in the building. The computer is capable of being used to lock and unlock the locks. Anyone who has access to the computer can control access to the rooms.

Whether you live in a house, a condominium or an apartment, there are certain consistent major components of Tucson security systems. You can expect any discussion with a security consultant to include things that should be done with regard to each of these components.

In Tucson security systems for house, condo or apartment will be chosen on the basis of several considerations. You should research and investigate or calculate several factors that will be critical in designing or choosing the system that provides the best security for your needs. These factors are:

Cost. You should shop around and understand what drives the cost of a system. You need to decide up front how much you can afford to invest in a system.

What is most important. You need to decide what your main home security needs really are. Are you protecting against intruders, generally making your home more secure, ensuring privacy?

Long-term costs. Be certain that you plan for such on-going costs as monitoring fees, equipment maintenance, fees for accidental alarms (this can be important with children).

Do you need special items in your system? Are their children, someone with a disability or elderly people in the household? There might be special features you’ll want to add to your system. Is the house ever empty for a long time?

What is the crime rate in your neighborhood? Anyone you call in Tucson for security systems will probably know about the crime rate in your neighborhood. This is something you should know before you start interviewing businesses.

Once you have carefully considered all of these influences, you will be in a good position to start talking with experts on Tucson security systems. You should also think about the main categories of protection offered by security systems.

The first major component of most Tucson security systems is security and monitoring of points of access: doors and windows.

Your security system will certainly involve monitoring and security of all doors into your residence. Here you might look at investing in a steel security door. Oversize doors (as in some older buildings or lofts) and doors with lots of glass (patio doors, french doors) might need multi-point locks. These might be made in several ways, but they all include bolts into the wall or doorframe in at least three places. This offers a little more protection that a doorknob lock and a deadbolt.

Beyond security locks on windows, you might be advised to consider bars over windows in a high crime area. Don’t panic — some of these are very attractive. You can also apply a special film to windows to make it harder to break the window. You will probably want to install an alarm that sounds when a window is opened. You can also install a glass-break alarm that will sound if someone breaks the glass.

The second category of security equipment in Tucson security systems is lighting, both inside and outside your home.

The goal of outside security lights is to eliminate dark areas near doors and windows where an intruder could hide. You will probably choose between outdoor security lights on a timer, or lights on a dusk to dawn sensor, or lights connected to either a motion sensor or a heat sensor (body heat). It is sometimes wise to include indoor lighting on various kinds of timers, either to give the appearance that someone is at home, or to make it safer to move around the home at night.

Another component of many Tucson security systems for residences is fencing and gates.

Various kinds of fencing and gates can provide everything from privacy to safety to security. Fencing establishes a perimeter around your home. Whether you just want to prevent animals from wandering into your yard or you want to install an electric taser or alarmed fence to ensure that nobody comes on your property, there are appropriate components of security systems to meet these needs.

The final category of Tucson security systems equipment is various kinds of motion sensing devices.

Microwave motion sensors are one option. Another is an infrared heat sensor. The purpose of both is to detect anyone who might enter your home. These can be installed and programmed to ignore pets and with controls that offer you the ability to turn them on and off in specific parts of the residence.

Tucson security systems use the same basic elements as systems in other parts of the country. It is by combining devices, technologies and equipment with state-of-the-art monitoring that will ensure the safety and security of your family and your home.
