For those unfamiliar with the term, a dummy security camera is an imitation of a functioning security camera which can not record images. Before deciding to purchase a dummy security camera for either the inside or outside of your home or business, you should evaluate all of the advantages and disadvantages.

A big advantage to the dummy security camera is the significant cost savings over the real thing. You can pick up a dummy security camara, for around $30.00, compared to the real thing which can run into the hundreds of dollars. Not the money you save can be used to purchase additional dummy security cameras, give the appearance of additional security.

It is most useful to use dummy security cameras interspersed with a few legitimate cameras in case criminals are able to spot the fakes. They are then more likely to drop their guard and behave as if they are not being taped, making it much more likely they will do something criminal in camera range and be caught in the act.

Among the myriad disadvantages of dummy security cameras is the ease of spotting them. An experienced criminal can easily spot an inexpensive dummy security camera.

Some argue that dummy security cameras provide only a false sense of security, since they provide no evidence should a break-in occur. An effective security system should include some kind of live monitoring, which can not be provided unless something is captured by the camera.

Criminal activity usually becomes greater than it initially was after a dummy security camera has been uncovered. This is likely from your security system’s weaknesses having been identified and then exploited, giving confidence to criminals attempting to breach the remainder of your security system.

It’s really sad to think we have to spend money in order to protect things that we have worked long and hard to buy.Sadly that is how it is these days , it seems that everybody has a personal home alarms now. If you want to keep you house safe then you have already seen the massive amount of different types of alarm systems that are available today .

Everyone wants to protect their family and keep their home safe. There are a number of different options that you must choose between when you are looking which security system you would like to install. Once good choice is a monitored system that will contact someone when there is a problem rather than sounding an alarm .

There are many competitors out there

There are large numbers of security companies that can provide and install your personal home alarm , and some can even offer the monitoring services that you may require. You should carefully look at all of the information about this alarm and try to compare like for like.

A reason you may want to opt for an alarm that has alarm monitoring because these alarms are normally much cheaper. The monthly cost is also quite low, you might just have to pay 10 dollars per month for the monitoring of the alarm. A lot of homeowners would consider this as such a small amount of money, and so would probably opt for it.

A security system that has monitoring options work by setting up the alarm in your home so that when it goes off the monitoring company is notified by a phone call. This monitoring company will then try to contact you to determine if this is a false alarm . If they get a hold of the home owner and find out it is a false alarm it will be ignored ,but if you tell them you are not home or they cannot reach you the police will be alerted there is an issue . Most alarms are nothing more than a theft deterrent; but a monitored alarm gives you the ability to potentially catch the burglar .

You should carefully choose the company that you are going to be using to provide the alarm monitoring system. The best way of finding a reliable company is talking to people you already know, then you can take their opinions into consideration before you make your choice .

Having alarm monitoring is by no means required, however it does provide more protection compared to a standard alarm. Monitoring doesn’t cost a lot of money and it could safe all your stuff .

Miniature spy cameras are getting smaller and smaller. Now smaller versions called mini spy cameras have been developed just like a credit card, and even smaller. Their size makes it easy for them to be carried around without others noticing it. State-of-the-art mini and micro spy cams can also offer good quality images, without being very expensive.

If you have to embark on some critical surveillance to be done without being seen, then mini spy cams are very practical. Find the camera that fits your requirements and budget. Power and life of the battery, range, and transmitting power for wireless cams, are things you must consider.

Less visible mini cams will make your surveillance and investigation steps more discreet. There are models of button cameras with their matching buttons, or screw-head cams which can also give quality output. Some models can run for even nine hours or more using a 9-volt battery. You can find your mini cams for specific conditions, as there are also waterproof models and models with night vision in the market.

Mini spy cameras are very helpful for surveillance in children’s rooms, at workplaces, and in remote areas. Watching over pets which have to be left for short periods of time can be done by mini cams. And they have been useful in research and studies of nature too.

The weight and size are two important considerations when choosing your model. In addition, you will also need to think about range, resolution, and low-light performance for when you will need your cam. Good you can choose the model with night vision or waterproof versions. Colored, or simple black and white images, are also options to consider.

These mini spy cameras are changing the methods of gathering information for discreet investigations. What these mini spy cams prove is, sometimes, isn’t smaller the better!

As each day goes by thieves find more ways to disrupt our lives . People all over the country have to worry about having their homes burglarized when they are away . Most of the time the criminals go unprosecuted and the police are defenseless much of the time . Burglary represents for thieves an easy way to make money. Most of them will not bother to develop scenarios for complicated burglary, unless the target can bring them the “queen’s diamond”. So the burglars look for homes with easy access. Therefore, the best thing you can do to minimize the risk of a break in, is to make it difficult to enter. You need to make sure the entrances are strong , secure the windows, employ good lighting and use reliable a alarm Systems

Fortify Your Entrance Points

Your first option could be using a metal door, they may not look the best but most crooks can’t get through them . Most burglars do not possess the skills we see in movies. If a house is too difficult to burglarize, they will simply avoid it. Statistic, housebreakers prefer to enter via the garage door. For this reason do not use metal doors solely to fortify your main entrance, but to secure all the other points of entry as well. Keep in mind doors that use thin wooden frames are very easy to break . Fortify such entrances also use quality locks to make sure they cannot crack it .

Secure All Accessible Windows

Despite the common belief, burglars are not intimidated by the daylight. Statistic, most of the break-in incidents happen during the daytime, when people are away at work. If you leave a window cracked that is as good as having a welcome sign for the burglar . Do lock your windows when you are away from home. That is why you should use a window jam to hold it in place. Most criminals go for lower windows as well as basement windows and windows on a deck . When you secure the windows make sure burglars cannot reach and remove the blocking device . If your home has an burglar alarm , make sure your home will not stay darken night after night. To avoid sending such an invitation to the thieves, use light timers. The light timers can be also used to turn on and off lights, radio and TV sets that will intensify the false impression of occupancy.

Another important aspect of your home security is outdoor lighting . Most thief’s don’t want to be seen , good exterior lighting will discourage them to come near your home. Lights that have motion detectors work great for giving the criminal a sneaking surprise .

The trust old burglar alarm works well

If a thief sees any sign that a house has an alarm chances are they probably are not going to hang around . An alarm system is effective and reliable when properly installed and maintained. Make sure you have the code written down someone out of site . Make it hard for the burglars to break in into your home and not to make their job easy.

Decide with right selections for your general alarm home security systems is crucial. With wide range of system and various brands that are ready today, we as a home owner should learn more in order to make the right choice according to our needs and requirements. In certain cases, home security alarms do not usually cover women and children from what they fear most. For example, domestic violence cannot be controlled with a home security alarm. They are likely to be hurt by what has been locked in the house with them.

Thus, installing a home security system can be a time, energy and money wasting. Surprisingly, many people do not react to alarm sirens anymore. They get bothered at the sound and rather investigate the reason. This may be due to false alarms that happen all the times. I admit that usually I do not investigating an alarm. In reality, it’s not my duty to figure out the cause of a siren. Home security is usually implemented so inefficiently that false alarms occur most of the time. Some home owner feels that they can set up their own home security system. However, they usually do the most awful job and have caused the most false alarms.

Refer to the above, I do not be certain that most home owner use their home security alarm as it should be. In order to secure a home, it is advised that you spend considerably more than what is typical. By reason of competitions, a lot of home security firms offer discount packages. The home security systems always come with window screen alarms. It is important to keep in mind that you get what you pay for. Always think from your actual needs and decide rationally.

Another down to earth suggestion for home security is always lock the door. Sounds straightforward. You may be surprised that there are a lot of people do not lock their doors. I must tell the truth that rarely I lock my door whether or not I’m home. Well, it’s time to change that kind of mindset as our society is different compare to our last generations.

Here are some of the home security devices features. They include timers that time events like lights going on and off while the homeowner is not home. This feature alone is useful when used in conjunction with a friend or neighbor retrieving your newspapers and mail. It doesn’t matter if your lights make it look like you are home, however when there is a pile of newspapers on your door front, that as common sense, indicating you are not at home. There are a lot of firms where they do offer home security tips and advice. Search them today and learn more.

The first step is realizing that you want a Wireless Home Security System. The next step is deciding whether you want to spend the money to install one. If you are feeling like you have a handle on some construction, and you want to give installation a try, make your home secure with a wireless alarm yourself. You may find that installing a wireless system is not that hard, and your confidence in yourself and your handyman skills may make you a better person. But take on that challenging and new weekend project armed with a few basic tips.

Wireless home security electronics have few parts, but that does not mean that you should ignore the packaged directions. Most of the wireless home security systems can be installed with the everyday tools that you find in your garage, but no one wants to make a mistake. You must first decide where you want the control panel to go. The only constraints for a control panel are that it must be near an electrical outlet. However, where you place your control panel can make a difference because you don’t want a control panel easily reached by a predator who could smash it the instant he or she breaks in, and you don’t want any sound of the alarm to be muffled by the alarm being concealed.

If you install your own wireless security system, you can find Cheap Home Alarm Systems here - do not pay those outrageous prices the national name brands sell!

Next, you will want to install the control panel. Even though your home security alarm system is labeled wireless, there will be a wire of some sort, so don’t be fooled by names. You will need to drill a hole behind the control panel, and then another one below the outlet so that you can connect the two. If you are concerned about your abilities when it comes to wiring, don’t worry, the wireless security systems usually come with a battery that will act as a backup in case the power goes out or the device is unplugged.

Get a Monitored Alarm System Comparisons here.
The siren and control panel programming will be the next step on your list. You will need an electrical outlet for the siren just like the control panel. Typically, in order to program your sirens, you will be able to use a common screwdriver. However, all systems are not created equal, so you will need to check with the manufacturers instruction packet when dealing with this step. The control panel programming will be easier if you locate the spreadsheet with step-by-step instructions in working with your keypad. Remember not to throw away any of the paper materials that come into the package with your system. There should be a manifest on the first page of the instruction booklet. If you feel like you are missing something, call the manufacturer’s help line and they will send you another one in the mail.

After you have finished all of the programming needed, you will need to install the sensors. Sensors are usually placed on windows and doorways. It is not a problem if these are visible because it may let an intruder know that you have an alarm and prevent any windows being broken. The sensors are usually plastic and can be installed with an electric screwdriver.

Being able to achieve any task that, at the start, seems challenging is a rewarding experience. When you install your wireless home security system, you may feel relieved and proud, but don’t forget that you want the product to work. The last step in any installation is to test your alarm to make sure that it is in working order. There are many different resources that can let you know what home security prices and rating for different products are, and then you can decide which system would be the most compatible with you. Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions before you buy a wireless home security system because you don’t want to get stuck with an impossible system that will end up costing you more money than you want to spend.

Security cameras are a great way to keep you home safe because you can stay safe inside while keeping any eye on the outside . There are many different way wireless security cameras can be useful .

Alarms for homes, pools, outbuildings, and other structures can be a great way to protect what is yours. These are very important, and many will have them for the peace of mind, even when they might live in a very safe place. Most people worry about two things when they get a new alarm systems, and both are easy enough to deal with. Some worry they will always be setting off their own alarms, and some worry what alarm installation will do to their home.

Alarms have come a long way. If you worry that an effective alarm systems installation will wreck your walls, you have probably not seen the latest in home alarm systems. These are often wireless, and though they have to be hooked up to power and a phone line, there is very little damage to your home. For the most part, damage from alarm installation is non existent. Unless you have a bumbling fool in your home doing the installation, you can rest easy that everything will be as you left it.

If you are still concerned about the home alarm system installation, all you have to do is ask. The company you have chosen will be able to tell you what to expect with their system, and what they need to do to have a smooth alarm installation. You will see new boxes around your home near your doors, if you are getting a home alarm, and possibly new lights outside or small tabs on your windows, but that will depend on what you have chosen. Otherwise, you should not see any damage or anything overly unsightly.

If the word of the company coming to do an alarm installation still has you worried, there is no harm in being there when they come. That way, if there is a problem with something, they can talk to you about it without delaying the installation or doing something to your home that you might not be happy with. Being there during alarm installation might also be helpful in your understanding of what the alarm does and how it works. This might mean less problems for you in the future. Also, you can decide then and there if you have gotten enough features on your system, or if you feel something is lacking. That way, you can make additions right away -in many cases- without having to wait for them to come back at a later
date.

Unless you’ve left someone like Macaulay Calkin in your home, you wouldn’t want your house standing alone on Christmas Eve or on any other occassion. Burglars attack whether you are on a vacation or sleeping peacefully at night. These opportunists not only steal your valuables and hard-earned cash, they also destroy the sanctity of your home and your peace of mind. So, be prepared and secure your home.

The following are some tips that will provide you information on how to protect your greatest investment from becoming a burglar’s next prey.

Assess your Home

Think like a burglar. Look for vulnerable areas of your house that can be a possible entry point of thieves like glass doors, low windows, terraces, etc. Check the locks of the external doors and windows. Inspect the house at night and look for possible areas where burglars can hide before breaking an entry to your home.

Plan What You Need to Do

After assessing your home security system for its needs, you probably have a better and clearer picture of what you need to do to protect your home. You may want to put more locks on your windows and doors or add lighting to your backyard. But whatever that is, the bottom line is you now have an idea on what home security measures and gadgets you need to include and install in your home.

Included in a basic security systems are exterior door and window sensors and an alarm control panel with touchpad. This might be enough to appease you from thoughts of possible break-ins. Once the window or door has been broken or opened, the alarm will sound to alert you and, depending on the loudness of the alarm, possibly your neighbor too. More sophisticated home security systems may include automatic flashing exterior lights upon triggering the alarm.

Depending on your needs, other security gadgets can be added to your home security system. One is a “glass break” sensor, a gadget that responds when a picture window is broken. Another is a motion detector with activated flashing lights. The light will flash and the alarm will sound when movement is detected in selected areas. Finally, there is video surveillance. This can be installed inside and outside the home. With the help of the internet and other networking devices, it is now possible to check the video images generated by the cameras at your home from your laptops or PDA.

Implement Your System

After you have installed your security system, be sure that you know how to operate the devices. Teach your family members too about the correct activation and deactivation of the alarms. Always keep the devices clean and working. This will ensure that your system is always working and you are always protected.

If you own a business and have any concerns about safeguarding the well-being of your employees and protecting your property, then installing a Home Security Alarm System can be a smart business move. Well-designed burglar alarm systems can be one of the most cost effective ways to protect your interests, in terms of your equipment, supplies and inventory, not to mention the safety of your employees. But, there are some lingering misconceptions about security surveillance systems that often puts people off from purchasing.

Get the Latest Burglar Alarm System Reviews Here
As most people know, burglar alarms are designed to help you detect break-ins and intrusions into stores or warehouses. When the alarm is tripped, a monitoring company is alerted and they are able to dispatch local police to the scene to handle the problems. Most systems also have integrated fire alarm systems and a monitor for that as well. Today, even the most basic systems also include security surveillance systems and even remote video surveillance, adding an extra layer of functionality.

Find the Best Burglar Alarm System Quotes on the Internet Today!
And, yet, even with the multiple benefits that can come through the installation of burglar alarm systems, some people still hesitate to purchase them because of those nagging doubts, which are most often the result of incorrect information or assumptions. It’s time now to clarify some of the most common areas of misconceptions that surround security equipment installations.

Myth One: They are just too expensive to install and monitor. Not so these days. Costs have come down considerably in recent years and basic systems can be purchased and installed for a few hundred dollars, depending on the facilities needs. Monitoring is generally charged on a monthly basis and usually is under $30 per month.

Myth Two: It’s an unnecessary expense and won’t boost my bottom line. While it’s true that you may never have an incident, the fact is that the cost of one break-in will more than likely pay for the security surveillance equipment many times over. Also, your insurance company will probably give you a break on your insurance premiums if your business premises are protected by a burglar alarm system.

Myth Three: They are difficult to use and I don’t have time to train my employees. Actually good security systems are quite simple to use. If you can use an ATM, then you can certainly handle a burglar alarm system. The same applies for employees and typically a demonstration and training session will take less than an hour.

Myth Four: The system will be useless is the power goes out or the phone lines are cut. The reality is that any decent security surveillance solution will have sophisticated battery backup in case of a power outage and an integrated cellular line to back up your phone system. Both of these backup systems automatically kick in if problems are detected.

Myth Five: False alarms are too common and will get us in hot water with local authorities. A monitored system will first alert the monitoring center. They will attempt to contact you, or someone on your contact list, to determine if there is a real problem. This step keeps most false alarms from ever being reported to emergency agencies. If you entered the wrong code, then you will get a warning signal and still have time to re-enter the code.

If any of these concerns have been what’s been holding you back from getting a security surveillance system installed in your business, or from having a home safety security system installed, then debunking these common misconceptions should help you to make a more informed decision. And, the bottom line is that burglar alarm systems deliver a great deal more value in terms of peace of mind, knowing that your business or your home and family are protected.

You want to find a company that has a good reputation and that is recognized for its reliability. Although when you go to pick which company you want, it can be more difficult than you may expect. How can you determine which company is not going to let you and your family down? By becoming more knowledgeable about the differences in what the different security alarm systems offer, you will find you are able to make a more informed decision. ADT home security provides their customers with opportunities as well as good protection from potential predators. However, learning about ADT home security, and what they have to offer, may save you plenty later.

IF you want to Compare Home Security Systems ADT home security is a little different from their competitors because they have specialized packages that can be customized to you and your family’s protective needs. Their process starts by allowing the customer to speak to a representative who can help decide which in home security system is the best. There are different additions that can be added to these systems, such as fire, carbon monoxide, and medical alert monitoring. However, these additions are an additional charge, and they can only be purchased in conjunction with an alarm system. Therefore, do not skip the step of speaking to a representative in order to decide what elements are necessary to keeping a secure home environment.

Some people feel like a Home Security System is pointless, but in a survey conducted by the National Burglar and Fire Protection Agency in 2000, nine out of ten burglars said that they would have been less likely to break into a home if they knew it had a security system. With that being said, ADT security provides a convenient, wireless system that can be installed with minimum inconvenience, or damage to your home. Therefore, if you are a renter and you want to install a system, you can disconnect it and take it with you to your next residence for little to no cost. The Home Security Systems are also affordable, costing $32.99 per month, and there is no charge for relocation after you have been a customer for two years or more.

As an existing customer, you want to know that a product is going to work. You want to have a reason to differentiate one company from the next. ADT home security gives their customers an extra assurance that is not widely offered elsewhere. There is a burglary protection guarantee that promises to pay up to $500 on a home’s insurance deductible if there is ever a burglary. There is also a 20% discount on your home owner’s insurance when you sign up with ADT home security along with a money back guarantee within 6 months if you are not satisfied or you feel like you have changed your mind. Also, if you decide that you would like to move, you don’t have to leave your system and start again. You may take your security system to your next residence, and if you have been with ADT for two or more years, you will have a $100 discount on your installation. However, if you decide to move before two years, it will cost you the installation fee and possibly a new contract. Make sure to check and negotiate for all the best deals before you invest in your alarm system.

People are always complaining about not being able to talk to an actual person when they call customer service lines, or try to pay a bill. ADT’s in-home security system also offers the comfort of a live person. The specialized feature is called the 2 Way Voice, and it lets a real person respond when an alarm goes off. The 2 Way Voice feature also has a time limit, therefore, if you have this type of alarm at your place of business and you do not respond to the call in time, the police will be called unnecessarily. The catch to this feature is that it requires a landline, and with many people using their cell phones now for a primary source of communication, this could present a problem. If you don’t have a phone linje, you may want to do some further research and investigation into ADT home security in order to make sure their other features are worth your while. Choose Home Security Systems that are tailored to your needs by assessing what your needs are ahead of time.

When you try to determine which Burglar Alarm System is good for your family, you have to consider all of your choices and at the top of this list is ADT home security.

Most good-sized towns now have at least one spy shop. Where these gadget-heavy stores used to be hidden in an old building downtown where nobody ever went, they’re now in heavily-trafficked strip malls and shopping centers. If you haven’t taken a trip to the spy store lately, or ever, now might be a good time to drop in for a little entertainment.

What will you find in a spy shop? Hidden cameras of all kinds, for starters, from micro cams like button and screw cams, to realistic cameras that look like DVD players, clocks and plants. If you’re thinking of hiding a camera anywhere to catch anyone doing anything, your spy shop can set you up.

Spy gadgets include more than just hidden cameras, though. You’ll find all types of listening devices that let you hear and record conversations covertly and keep an “ear” on what’s going on. You may find these devices handy to keep track of your kids or determine if your spouse is cheating on you. Your spy shop staff can help you choose the right device.

Another handy item you’ll find at your local or online spy shop is a GPS tracker. These are great devices for keeping up with your teenagers ; you can tell exactly where they’ve been in the car. They’re also great for finding your car if it’s stolen, of course. And now GPS trackers come small enough to put in a cell phone, so you always know where your kids are.

Your spy shop is full of devices you can put to good use, and also items you can have fun with and just play around with. Whether you’re putting a motion detector camera in your home to protect against intruders, setting up a hidden camera in the bathroom to show your spouse how silly she looks in the morning, or using GPS tracking to protect your kids, your spy shop has the right gear for your needs.

It’s easy to get confused about what direction to head in when doing your own security camera systems reviews but the point to remember, being excessive with security cameras is only going to hurt your bottom line.

What do we mean by being excessive? Simply over-capitalizing with your system is unnecessary and cameras should really be posted where they are needed. And basically, around a home, they are needed in those areas where intruders can enter someone’s home without being noticed. Unless they are extremely brazen, their first choice entry point will usually be an area which is hard to see from the neighbor’s home or in a dark spot hidden away from everyone.

A quick walk around your property can identify possible hidden areas and then you can plan your system around this. You should avoid looking at brands ahead of placement when doing your initial security camera reviews.

Reviews Of Security Camera Systems

You have some choices as to which security camera systems you may want to install. Depending on your budget and your needs, your security camera system can be as basic as a single camera pointed at your front door or it can be as complex as a series of cameras that all go to a bank of monitors or some sort of recording device.

There are many establishments that sell security camera systems. Spy shops are one of these. These spy shops specialize in security camera systems and some of them are quite ingenious.

James Bond?

If you visit a spy shop, you’ll see that they can put security camera systems throughout your home or business without anyone knowing they’re there. They can put a camera in a smoke detector, a clock, a pack of cigarettes, or anything else really. These types of systems are great if you want to catch a perpetrator off guard. However, if deterrence is your goal, you may want to go with a traditional camera that others can see.

Deterring Intruders

Security camera systems that are designed to keep perpetrators away make themselves very obvious. These are the types you see in gas stations and banks. They’re right there where anyone can see them, so that evil doers know that someone will be watching in case they decide to do something criminal.

Some reviews of security camera systems involve dummy or fake cameras, which are nothing more than an object made to look like a camera. They don’t record but they do a good job of making someone think that they do. They’re the cheapest bet when it comes to security camera systems but they won’t offer any evidence if anything bad does happen.

Most of you technophiles will be thrilled to see the title of this article because you’ve been looking for a way to justify buying those new spy gadgets. Now you can say, “But I really need it. I saw this article…”

Okay, you may not actually have a life-or-death need for most spy gadgets, but there are several gadgets that can be really useful, and that you will enjoy having and using, if you love technology.

One of the coolest new spy gadgets is the GPS tracker. These have been used for a while to locate stolen cars, but they’re great if you have a teenager. You can put one on the car and know where your teen has been. Newer models are now small enough to fit just about anywhere, so you can always know where your teen is.

And of course there’s always the spy camera, whether used as a nanny cam, a kid cam to make sure your children really are doing homework and not goofing off, or a spouse cam if you suspect your significant other is cheating on you. Hidden cameras remain among the coolest spy gadgets, because they can literally be put almost anywhere and look very convincing. Cameras can look like DVD players, books, plants, clocks, even room deodorizers. If you’re looking to record someone covertly, you can find a hidden camera that will do the trick.

Listening devices are also popular spy gadgets, allowing you to listen in covertly on conversations and record evidence if need be.

There are almost no limits on the kinds of spy gadgets you can find at your local spy shop or online, and you can no doubt come up with some very good uses for these technological wonders. Whether you’re hoping to detect wrongdoing or protect your family, you really do need these spy gadgets.

You just got out of work and your walking to your car . You are inches away from unlocking the door , then out of nowhere a crazy guy grabs your hand bag. Remembering your self-defense lessons, you put your keys between your fingers and punch him.

He is stunned in pain , but it doesn’t stop him. He is upset now and running right at you . Now he is gonna hurt you . But your prepared, you have pepper spray on your keychain . You Blast him in the face and he hits the ground . He is now on the ground wheezing and gagging trying to catch his breath. Your attacker is now on the ground, rubbing his eyes in pain, and trying to catch his breath.

What can be said about pepper spray that hasn’t already been said ? Well, for those of you who haven’t heard it yet, I’ll say this. Pepper Spray is a great self defense weapon .

What is mace pepper spray ?

which is a highly inflammatory liquid derived from the concentrated juice of ordinary hot chili peppers. Pepper spray is measure in the Scoville heat unit scale .

The name Scoville comes from the pharmacist that invented it named Willbur Scoville . Measuring the heat of peppers is much more sophisticated now than it was when it was originated but it is still called Scolville Heat Units to honor its inventor.
To give you an idea of how strong pepper spray is, think about it this way. A Sweet Bell Pepper has a heat rating of 0 shu. A Jalapeno Pepper has a heat rating of between 3000 and 8000 shu. Tabasco Sauce and Cayenne Pepper have a heat rating of between 30,000 and 60,000 shu. A Habanero Pepper (which is one of the hottest peppers on earth) has a heat rating of Between 100,000 and 350,000 shu

Most Defensive sprays have a rating of between 1,500,000 and 5,000,000 shu.

Think about the last time you ate something spicy .

You take a small bite, start chewing, and in about 2 seconds your lips and tongue start to get hot. Then your eyes begin to tear up and it feels like your tongue is swelling. Drinking water only makes it worse, so you eat some bread or crackers trying to cut down the burning. You realize you’re just gonna have to wait for it to go away. After a few minutes, things start to cool off and you’re just glad it’s over.

Now take that sensation, times it by a couple hundred, and rub it all over your face, including your eyes, nose and mouth. That might give you some idea of what it feels like to be shot in the face with pepper spray.

You only get the full effect of pepper spray if you spray the person in the face .

The most common effects of pepper spray are , Eyes tear up and swell shut automatically. Swelling of the mucus membranes in the nose and throat, making it very difficult to breath. mace pepper spray is some serious stuff.

These effects usually last about 20 to 30 minutes depending on the strength of the pepper spray and how much of the spray actually hits your target in the face.

Pepper spray dispensers come in many shapes and sizes. Some as big as fire extinguishers for riot control and all the way down to small keychain types . I’ve seen pepper spray disguised as pens, pagers, lipstick, jogging weights, and even a ring that fits on your finger.

You also have to keep in mind that pepper spray will do you no good if you do not keep it readily available . It won’t do any good if it is buried in your purse or sitting at your house .

There are so many things to think about when you are pregnant and trying to prepare for your first child, but gathering home security information should not be at the bottom of your list, since you really need a Home Security System.

Baby showers, blankets, strollers, highchairs, and cribs can consume your daily thoughts but it is important to remember the place where your child is going to be most of the time, in the home. People differ when it comes to child home safety, but there are general measures that everyone should take, to try and prevent possible tragedy in a residence.

Some people think that home security information in regards to childproofing a home is meaningless, and it will teach your child to be more careless than if they just learned the concept of no. A Monitored Alarm by Protect America can make your home safer. Many people understand that you cannot childproof every environment that your child is in, and you cannot ask everyone you know to childproof their own homes because of your kid.

Other people feel like their youngsters should feel comfortable enough in their own homes to be able to explore it freely. They think that if their baby were at another person’s home, they would be more likely to keep a closer eye over them. However, there is a compromise between childproofing as an obsession, and leaving your children to fend for themselves. Home security information is a responsibility when you’re a parent.

There are many things that you can do to childproof your home. Believe me, if you can think of it, someone out there has invented it. Adding a Monitored Home Security Alarm System should be at the top of your list. However, the basics of home security information are pretty simplistic.

First, you should know that when a child sees an electrical outlet they will be drawn to it like a magnet, so you should cover all of the electrical outlets with the plastic covers that cost nothing for a pack of 100. Home safety is important when canvassing your electronics. Make sure all of your equipment with their accompanying cords are out of reach. If you have stairs or any other place in the house that you don’t want your child to play in, only around, invest in a safety gate.

Make sure that all of the emergency numbers, like the fire and police department, are easy to find. Many times there will be a magnet with all important phone numbers delivered with your phonebook. Lastly, you should check and make sure that you buy age appropriate toys. A lot of toy manufacturers make toys with a great deal of parts that can be a choking hazard for small children, so be sure to check the label.

Another thing that concerns your child, your home, and the safety of everyone in your home is to childproof your pets the best that you can for security purposes. Learn about home security information for pets. Before you bring your infant home, you should play with your dog’s ears, tail, and body while they eat. Many dogs can get protective over their food, and they have to learn to get used to hands in and around their food.

Make sure that you buy your dog or cat a bed and give it a designated spot in the house. When your child can understand, let them know that the spot is the dog’s peaceful place and they should not be bothered when they are in their place. Eventually, your pet will seek refuge in their personal place when they are tired, annoyed, or want to be left alone.

Lastly, you should bring your baby’s blanket home and give it to your dog after the first day in the hospital. Your dog will have a chance to get used to your baby’s smell, and he or she will not feel like an intruder has entered your home once you bring the new addition home from the hospital. Prepare your pet, so that you can make your home safe for you child initially, and you can relax later.

Kids are just like adults in smaller packages, so it would be illogical to think that you can receive all of the home security information that is out there concerning children, their habits and personalities. There can be one child that is scared of heights, so you will never find them mounting up a set of stairs, while there could be another child that would attempt to jump from the top. You can never tell what kind of personality your child is going to have until you meet them and get to know them a little better.

However, when you follow the basic childproofing techniques, you will find that your house will become a lower stress environment because all of the possible security measures have been taken. It is always better to be two steps ahead as opposed to being two steps behind.

When you saw the words “spy equipment,” you probably pictured James Bond with all the cool technical stuff from Q, right? But have you been in a spy shop recently, or looked at spy equipment online? The gadgets keep getting cooler, smaller, and more usable by everyday people.

For instance, when you think of spy equipment you probably think of cameras. Maybe you’re thinking of the little Minox cameras from the old movies, where the spy would click the two halves of the camera together to take pictures. Still pictures. Now you can get hidden video cameras that no one would suspect were cameras.

Whether you buy a camera disguised as a plant, a DVD player, an air freshener or a clock, you can buy great spy equipment, very affordably, to use around your home or office. Wouldn’t you like to know how the babysitter treats your kids, what your employees are doing when you’re not there, or whether your kids are really watching a movie with their dates?

Spy equipment doesn’t just mean hidden cameras, though. You can get listening devices that let you hear and record conversations covertly, which can be not only fun for a gag, but also useful in proving wrongdoing at home or work.

And one of the newest breakthroughs in spy equipment is GPS tracking. You probably have heard of this; they can even be used to locate stolen cars. You can now put GPS tracking on your car or in your teenager’s cell phone to make sure they’re really where they’re supposed to be, and help keep them safe.

Spy equipment is no longer just for British agents in tuxedos. Of course, if you happen to be British and have a tuxedo, you’re free to wear it, but anyone can now use “spy technology” to protect their homes, families and businesses.

A small fire in your home can quickly fill your home with noxious smoke. It’s vital that you select the proper smoke detector for your home, have them properly installed and perform regular tests on.

Residential smoke smoke detectors come in two types, the first is a photoelectric, and the other is an ionization detector. In a photoelectric detector a bright beam of light is aimed into a chamber containing a photocell. Smoke entering the chamber will scatter the light, enabling some of it to reach the photocell and cause an alarm. A smoldering fire will set off a photoelectric detector quicker than a flaming fire.

The ionization detector has a small amount of a radioactive element that ionizes the air which gives of a tiny electrical charge. When smoke enters this detector, the current is lowered and sets off the alarm.

Which type of detector works best? Each type has its advantages and disadvantages. Many of today’s photoelectric smoke detector units are wired into your homes electrical system. This means that if there is a power outage, you will not be protected. Units that use ionization normally run on house current and have a battery for backup. They do however have a somewhat higher numner of false alarms. It would be a good idea to use both - an ionization detector in your bedroom hallway, and photoelectric in your main living area.

A general rule is to have a minimum of one smoke detector for every level of your home. You should also keep these guidelines in mind:

Do not install smoke detectors close to the kitchen, furnace, garage, or just outside a bathroom door. Avoid installing smoke detectors in areas where the circulation of air is poor, i.e. corners. Install each smoke alarm on a ceiling or on a wall roughly 8 to 10 inches below the ceiling.

Remember to test your smoke detectors monthly. Nearly every unit made these days comes with a button that makes it simple. If you don’t see a test button, simply light a candle, blow out the flame, and hold the smoking wick about 6 inches below the detector. The smoke should set the unit into alarm.

Replace the batteries in battery-powered smoke detectors annually, on a date that you can easily remember such as your birthday, or the day you set your clocks back. While doing this, use a soft brush to clean the inside of the detector and its vents to ensure the unit’s reliability.

So what the heck are these stun gun things?? Well, first of all it is not a gun in ordinary terms because it doesn’t shoot anything. A Stun Gun is a device that uses an electrical shock to override the nervous system . It will only take a 2-5 second shock to take down even the biggest criminal

Stun guns come in many different sizes from as low as 50,000 volts all the way to 1 million volts . The higher the voltage gets the faster it will take down an attacker .

The low amperage of the device is how it can pack such a punch without killing someone. 1 amp can be fatal to a human. the most common amperage for a stun gun is about 2-5 milliamps. By using the combination of high voltage and low amps best stun gun self defense products will temporarily override the central nervous system and disable the attacker but will not cause permanent damage.
In order to use a stun gun you must push the business end into the criminal and squeeze the trigger. An electrical charge will then pass into the body of your attacker and bring them to their knees.

The electrical current will use up the blood sugar your muscles need for energy . The best part is that it does not matter where you touch your attacker the current will spread all through the body. These effects can last up to 10 minutes giving you enough time to get away.

The severity of the effects are determined by the amount of time the attacker is in contact with the stun gun. If you give them a quick zap it will only give them a small shock. If you hold it to them for 3 or more seconds it will cause complete loss of control of their body and mental confusion. These effects can last for as long as 15 minutes .

A big benefit of Stun Guns compared to pepper spray is that it can be used over and over again. You may have to replace the batteries from time to time but it will not just run out like best pepper spray.

Stun Guns come in various sizes and shapes. Some can be hidden in the palm of your hand, some have a curve, some straight and other look like flashlights or cell phones. All of the good ones have a safety switch to prevent from accidental discharge .

Over all stun guns are a smart choice for keeping your self safe and they pack more than enough punch to take down even the biggest bad guy. So if you need some serious protection than stun guns are for you.

It is school time again and you might have kids off to college . They many mean different things to different people . If you children are off to school you probably have a few fears about it . There is nothing wrong with it; as a matter of fact it is perfectly normal. You have raised your children and done everything in your power to ensure they are in a safe and productive environment. Once they’re off to college it is up to them to make sure they are safe. You are not there every day to make sure they are safe .

Most colleges are pretty big and have many different types of people there . Most people are there to better their lives and do the best they can . However, there are always a few bad eggs in there with everyone . With different factors such as drugs, alcohol, and stress this could lead to an unstable place to be .

Most colleges do very well in protecting the student body but when you think about it there is normally a few thousand students and maybe 100 security guards trying to protect everyone. This setup works pretty good in most cases well but year after year there is a substantial amount of crime that takes place on school grounds . These include robbery, sexual assault, and harassment just to list a couple of them . The chances of a crime happening to your child are not huge but the risk is always there.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to strike fear into everyone . The point of this article is to ensure you know how to keep them safe while they are off at school . If you have read anything else I have written you know I am gung ho when it comes to stun gun self defense products . For today I want to talk about two of them that can make the difference for your child if they find themselves in an unforeseen predicament.

First I would like to talk about personal alarms . They are one of those self defense products that you don’t hear to much about . They are very simple and very effective. If you don’t know what a personal alarm is allow me to educate you. They are a small electronic device that normally attaches to your keychain. They have a button that can be compress in case you find yourself in a bad situation . If the button on the unit is pressed it sets of an ear piercing alarm noise that can be up to 120 db. The point is to scare off an attacker and alert others that you are in trouble. They are easy enough for anyone to use and they work great .

The best part about personal alarms is how simple they are to operate. If you can use the remote for your car to unlock the door you can use a personal alarm. They also do not come with any of the negatives that can be part of using pepper spray or a stun gun. When you are using either pepper spray or a stun gun there is the chance that it can be taken away and used against you. I’m not saying they are a bad way to protect yourself they are just a bit riskier . So if you are a parent that wants to get a super easy to use self defense product for your child I highly recommend getting them a personal alarm.

The next up for self defense choices is Stun Guns . You have probably have read a lot of the other stuff I have written about pepper spray. I won’t lie; I’m kind of a nut when it comes to the stuff. It is very versatile and comes in an ocean of different shapes, sizes, and potency. You can pick pretty much anyone you want and you’re going to get some fantastic results.

There are also a few myths about pepper spray that I would like to shed some light on . A lot of people believe that pepper spray is dangerous chemically engineered substance that poses a lot of risks to anyone it is used on. They could not be further from the truth . To put it simply, pepper spray at its base is an extract of red pepper that is highly purified. It can pose a danger to an individual that has respiratory issue or if used in extremely large amounts but most of the time it is perfectly safe.

It only takes a short 1-3 second burst to bring an attack to the ground . If your child finds themselves in a situation with an aggressive attacker all they have to do is push down on the top of the bottle and they will gain the upper hand. The best part is the attacker will be disable for up to 10 minutes giving your child time to find help .

I personally feel pepper spray is the best option for anyone who is in college. The many shapes and sizes it comes in make it perfect to take anywhere. Your child can use a small pepper spray to keep on their key ring. To top off their protection they could use a larger bottle to keep in their vehicle , purse, or pocket . There are also several different types including bottles that look like pagers, tubes of lipstick, or even walking weights. There are plenty of choice so rest assured you kind fine the perfect solution for your child .

Both of these self defense products are very effective and both carry their advantages and disadvantages. So if you have a child that is going off to college this year or even one that is already in college I recommend getting them a personal alarm or some pepper spray. It will make you feel much better about the safety of your child and I’m sure they will as well.

Not so long ago, the very idea of installing an in-home surveillance camera would have been unthinkable. Criminals usually do not target homes with the security alarm service sign displayed.

In the event arises that an intruder is not dissuaded by the signs warning of your home surveillance system, then the criminals image will be captured by the systems cameras. Cameras usually work in junction with a more extensive security alarm system that alerts police or sounds an alarm when a criminal has entered the house.

Video cameras can be helpful by capturing unauthorized people at your home while you are gone for the day.

Have you ever wished you had a wireless hidden camera to catch someone doing something on tape? Most of us have. You might have thought of catching your roommate using your shampoo or your kids jumping on their beds. Perhaps you want to put your hidden camera to more high-minded use and watch your babysitter or keep an eye on your teenage daughter and her boyfriend while they’re watching movies.

Chances are, you’ve thought of using a camera both for little, trivial things and for more serious purposes like protecting your kids. Who hasn’t wanted to set up a motion detector in the front yard and catch the neighbor’s dog doing his business in their shrubs? Or put up a hidden camera next to the exit and catch coworkers leaving early while we stay on and finish our work?

The cool thing about these is how much you can do with them. You can get a wireless hidden camera that looks like a DVD player and stick it in the kids’ room to find out if they’re really going to bed, or staying up playing on the computer. Want to spy on the company fridge and see who’s taking your lunch? Set up a plant looking spy cam that won’t be noticed.

For more serious purposes, you can set one up that looks like a mantel clock or an air freshener and keep an eye on the babysitter or your teenagers. Or put an EXIT sign spy cam at the back door of your building to catch your employees leaving early.

Technology has reached the point where, no matter what you want to do with your wireless hidden camera, you can find one for your needs - from disguised cameras for the home and workplace to button cameras, pen cams and other body-worn spy cameras. If you can think of a use, you can find one to fill the need.

Wireless cameras have become increasingly prevalent and are used for a variety of purposes in modern society. The following are some examples of how wireless cameras are used.

Security Wireless Camera

An outdoor wireless security camera can be used in a home security system, indoors and outdoors. Wireless cameras come in all shapes and sizes. Some types are waterproof and can be hidden away in outdoor plants or other nooks and crannies. There are also wireless video cameras with night vision.

One advantage of using a wireless camera for outdoor security is that one does not need to do extensive preparatory setups or wiring. If you decide you would like to have your camera in a different location, you simply move it over.

A wireless security camera is also good for temporary purposes - for example, if you want to have it in a certain location for a specific event or time period, it is easy to do so and then move it later.

Spy Camera

A spy cam is just what the name says - a hidden wireless camera used to spy on people. Modern uses and forms of spy cams seem to be getting more and more creative. They can be incorporated into pens, can be as small as a USB flash key, disguised in glasses, or simply so tiny that it is easy to conceal them within clothing. Some spy cameras also come with tiny microphones and listening/recording devices. You can even get a backpack with a hidden camera in it (perhaps this is useful in case you want to keep close watch on whoever is hiking behind you.)

A Nanny Cam

Surveillance cameras can be used by parents to keep an eye on their children’s babysitters (to make sure they don’t abuse the children, or raid the fridge too often), or they can be used by nannies to keep an eye on the children themselves. They can also be used to monitor pets. These wireless cameras can get innovative too - one recent example I saw is disguised in an air-freshener. In some cases, these wireless cameras come with portable hand-held monitors so that you can always have an eye on your child as you move through the house.

Some types of wireless nanny camera (or surveillance camera) will display the image on a compatible remote cell phone, PDA, Internet web browser, or a standard video display. Some are even equipped with heat sensors and will alert you by email if someone enters a room.

These cameras also have remote control functions so that you can change their position and pan to get a new view, from wherever you are.

————————

There seems to be a misconception that cameras for home security may be a waste of time because they don’t have the ability to stop a crime from happening. That’s true in a physical sense but yes, they can stop crimes from happening and do so every day.

The power of home security cameras lies in the fact they are effective as a deterrent. When people know they are there then there persona seems to change. When you know you’re being watched how do you behave. From an intruder’s point-of-view, it may seem foolhardy to break into a home with security camera coverage when there are those homes without them.

Can you see the deterrent for intruders here? Many home owners actually like to make it known they have security camera coverage simply because intending intruders will look for easier pickings. So yes, home security cameras can definitely play a major part in crime prevention.

Home Security Cameras

There are many different types of home security cameras but one choice you have to make is which type to buy regarding how it records. Motion sensor home security cameras only begin recording when they sense movement.

This is great for a security camera because it will only catch the footage if someone breaks into your home. If you have pets, however, this could become a problem because the home security cameras can’t differentiate between the family dog and a would be burglar.

The home security cameras that record all the time are also great cameras. These record constantly, meaning they will catch anything and everything that goes on within its range of vision. The problem with these types of security cameras is that, if something does happen, you’re going to have to rewind through all that tape in order to find the part that includes the break in. However, a constant recording home security camera can make you feel safer because there’s no question as to whether it caught anything or not.

If you do fall victim to a home invasion, you can then take the footage that you gleaned from your home security camera and you can take it right to the police. It might be a good idea, for extra security, to have several home security cameras placed throughout your home. You should have one facing each entry way and maybe one in the living room, or anywhere else where you keep lots of valuables like TVs and other electronics.

You can’t be everywhere at once but it’s nice to know that a security camera is constantly keeping an eye on things while you’re gone.

When we think of Self Defense Products these days usually one thing comes to mind… That’s pepper spray. But when we think of pepper spray, we are thinking of how we know it today. It has been around for hundreds of years. No, maybe not in the same convenient form that we know of today but the basis was still there same.

To understand how pepper stay has been around so long you must first understand the makeup of pepper spray . A lot of people believe that pepper spray is some crazy mystery compound made of all sorts of crazy stuff and the only reason the word pepper is used is so it sounds nicer. The is surely not the truth. The makeup is very simple it is an extract of oleoresin capsicum from the chili pepper. For the most part is all nature but it can be purified to make it very intense .

Now that we knowthe roots of this wonder substance can understand how it has been used for so long. It goes all the way back to China hundreds of years ago . It was not uncommon for hot pepper s to be crushed up and used on en enemy. The extreme burning and blinding of oleoresin capsicum made it a perfect weapon for close quarters combat. In fact it can even be traced to some early ninjas. It was very apparent from early on that pepper spray was a highly powerful tool for defending yourself .

In the 1960’s pepper spray starting moving in the direction that all know today. During that era there was a lot of research and development that went into designing new chemical agentssuch as tear gas. As a result of all this research there were several different types of crowd control agents developed including pepper spray.

In the 1980’s it was marketed under the name Halt Animal Repellent and was primarily used by postal workers to defend themselves from dogs. Pepper spray was soon picked up by hunters and forestry agents as a way to defend against animals . Still at this time it was not widely use by the public.

It wasn’t until the 1990s that pepper spraybegan to be well know among regular people . The FBI promoted it as an effective crowd control method and soon thousands oflaw enforcement agencies decided to use it . Once it was standard issue for most police officersit moved its way to the general product. By then it had been made much easier to have your own pepper spray due to the small sizes of the containers. You also didn’t have to worry about where to buy mace pepper spray because many stored took it on. It made it a very easy self defense option for many men and women.

Even today pepper spray still stands as the most popular self defense weapon out there . It comes in many different shapes and sizes starting small with a key chain pepper spray, then moving up to mid size bottles for your purse or pocket and finally you have the extra large sizes for your home or business.

Pepper spray is an extremely effective way to keep yourself safe. It packs a huge punch and will take down almost any attacker. I defiantly recommend it to everybody.

There are a lot of different ways to protect your home and keepthe ones you love safe . Obviously it would be pretty difficult to protect your home with an onion but bare with me I’ll make some sense of this for you.

When it comes to maintaining a safe home it is not enough to have a few extra locks on the door or a fearsome guard dog . When most people attempt to keep their home safe they tend to think they will be okay if they just slap in a burglar alarm . In some cases that would be fine but in most it is not sufficient.

What if some crazy criminal guy decides to do a “smash and grab”? They can be in and out of your house pretty quickly. In that short amount of time your house can be trashed and your valuables taken. Worst yet if you live in an areawith a high crime rate the police are probably a little busy. That only increases the time it would take them to respond to a Burglar Alarm at your home.

This is exactly why you want to you want to design your home security as cleverly as possible. The goal is to make your home both unappealing for anyone that may target you or downright frustrating for anyone that would attempt to break in.

This best way to do this is using a layering technique commonly known as the “onion technique”. The idea is build each part of your home security off another part to form layers of defense. It is very straight forward and obvious but you would be amazed by the low number of individuals that think to do this .

This is part one of a 2 part post. Keep your eyes open for our next post, with actual examples of how to implement this technique.

Hello everyone, this is the second part of the onion home security technique.
Most of the time anyone can do this with very little money.

A great example of this would be placing a rose bushes in front of your windows. Then, on the windows hold them firmly in place with a window stop . Then, on the inside of the window you can have a motion detector alarm or window alarm.

If someone tries to enter your home through the window they may change their mind when they realizedthere is a very unfriendly looking plan they have to climb threw . If they still want to try and get in, it is going to be a little on the tricky side for them to get through the rose bush. If that [/spin]crazy crook |sneaky criminal[/spin] gets threw the rose bush they will be stunned to find they are not able to budge the window becaus
